Abstract
An 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antimicrobial agent.
Claims7
A method of making a 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound, the method comprising:
- mixing 4,4′-dibromobenzil, 2-hydroxyquinoline-3-carbaldehyde, hexylamine, and ammonium acetate in pyridinium hydrogen sulfate to obtain a solution;
- heating the solution in an oil bath;
- washing the solution and isolating yields in the solution using methyl alcohol;
- and
- obtaining the 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound.
