Abstract
An 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antimicrobial agent.
Claims4
A method of treating a microbial infection in a patient comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a 4-[4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-1-hexyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl]isoquinolin-3-ol compound having the formula I:
- wherein the microbial infection is caused by one or more gram positive bacteria, one or more gram negative bacteria, one or more fungi, or a combination thereof;
- and wherein the one or more gram positive bacteria comprises Staphylococcus aureus;
- the one or more gram negative bacteria is selected from the group consisting of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and a combination thereof;
- and the one or more fungus comprises Candida albicans.
