Abstract
An 6-(4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl)hexanoic acid compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antimicrobial agent.
Claims6
A method of making a 6-(4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl)hexanoic acid compound, the method comprising:
- mixing 1,2-bis(4-bromophenyl)ethane-1,2-dione, 4-anisaldehyde, and ammonium acetate in pyridinium ionic liquid to obtain a solution;
- irradiating the solution followed by cooling to room temperature to obtain a formed precipitate;
- purifying the formed precipitate by filtering and recrystallization using ethanol;
- and
- obtaining the 6-(4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-imidazol-1-yl)hexanoic acid compound.
