Abstract
An 2-amino-4-(4-bromophenyl)-6-methoxypyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antibacterial agent.
Claims7
A method of making a 2-amino-4-(4-bromophenyl)-6-methoxypyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile compound, the method comprising:
- mixing 2-(4-bromobenzylidene)malononitrile and sodium methoxide in ethanol to obtain a reaction mixture;
- irradiating the reaction mixture;
- cooling the reaction mixture to room temperature and pouring the reaction mixture into crushed ice;
- filtering, washing, and drying a formed precipitate;
- recrystallizing a solid from ethanol;
- and
- obtaining the 2-amino-4-(4-bromophenyl)-6-methoxypyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile compound.
