Adhesive ostomy base plate having a sensor assembly adapted to monitor a condition of the adhesive

An ostomy base plate comprising:

• an adhesive layer on a proximal surface of the ostomy base plate, where the adhesive layer includes a stoma opening and is adapted to adhere the ostomy base plate to skin of a user;
• a top layer on a distal side of the ostomy base plate, the top layer provided with a top layer opening;
• and
• a sensor assembly disposed between the adhesive layer and the top layer, the sensor assembly including a plurality of electrodes providing first electrode parts and second electrode parts, with the second electrode parts distributed around the stoma opening and the first electrode parts extending from the second electrode parts to a terminal end having electrical connection parts;
• wherein the first electrode parts of the plurality of electrodes of the sensor assembly extend through the top layer opening in the top layer;
• wherein the first electrode parts comprise a flexible circuit with the terminal end located on a distal surface of the top layer and the terminal end is movable to bend away from the distal surface of the top layer to allow a removable data monitor to access and electrically connect to the terminal end;
• wherein the sensor assembly is adapted to communicate to the removable data monitor information related to a state of condition of the adhesive layer.
