Abstract
Methods, systems and devices for pre-operatively planned shoulder surgery guides and implants. Pre-operative planning methods for designing glenoid implants and prostheses, particularly with patient-specific augmentation, based on considerations of multiple factors affecting the outcome of shoulder surgery. Methods of using surgery guides and implants, including adaptive glenoid implants, in patients undergoing shoulder surgery.

A computing system comprising:
- memory storing computer executable instructions;
- and
- one or more processors configured to:
- generate a virtual model of a glenoid bone of a patient and a virtual model of a glenoid implant;
- send instructions to an output device of a user to cause the output device to display the model of the glenoid implant with respect to the model of the glenoid bone;
- perform virtual pre-operative analysis based on one or more of user input of the user or execution of the computer executable instructions to augment the model of the glenoid implant, wherein to augment the model of the glenoid implant, the one or more processors are configured to one or more of:
- align the model of the glenoid implant with the model of the glenoid bone;
- adjust a retroversion of the model of the glenoid implant;
- adjust an inferior tilt of the model of the glenoid implant;
- evaluate bone support based on the model of the glenoid implant with respect to the model of the glenoid bone;
- adjust a medialization of the model of the glenoid implant;
- or
- adjust a width of the model of the glenoid implant corresponding to a width of the model of the glenoid bone;
- and
- generate a virtual model of a final glenoid implant for the patient based on the virtual pre-operative analysis.
A method comprising:
- generating, by one or more processors of a computing system, a virtual model of a glenoid bone of a patient and a virtual model of a glenoid implant;
- sending, by the one or more processors, instructions to an output device of a user to cause the output device to display the model of the glenoid implant with respect to the model of the glenoid bone;
- performing, by the one or more processors, virtual pre-operative analysis based on one or more of user input of the user or execution of computer executable instructions stored by a memory of the computing system to augment the model of the glenoid implant, wherein augmenting the model of the glenoid implant comprises one or more of:
- aligning the model of the glenoid implant with the model of the glenoid bone;
- adjusting a retroversion of the model of the glenoid implant;
- adjusting an inferior tilt of the model of the glenoid implant;
- evaluating bone support based on the model of the glenoid implant with respect to the model of the glenoid bone;
- adjusting a medialization of the model of the glenoid implant;
- or
- adjusting a width of the model of the glenoid implant corresponding to a width of the model of the glenoid bone;
- and
- generating, by the one or more processors, a virtual model of a final glenoid implant for the patient based on the virtual pre-operative analysis.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause one or more processors of a computing system to:
- generate a virtual model of a glenoid bone of a patient and a virtual glenoid implant;
- send instructions to an output device of a user to cause the output device to display the model of the glenoid implant with respect to the model of the glenoid bone;
- perform virtual pre-operative analysis based on one or more of user input of the user or execution of the instructions to augment the model of the glenoid implant, wherein to augment the model of the glenoid implant, the instructions cause the one or more processors to one or more of:
- align the model of the glenoid implant with the model of the glenoid bone;
- adjust a retroversion of the model of the glenoid implant;
- adjust an inferior tilt of the model of the glenoid implant;
- evaluate bone support based on the model of the glenoid implant with respect to the model of the glenoid bone;
- adjust a medialization of the model of the glenoid implant;
- or
- adjust a width of the model of the glenoid implant corresponding to a width of the model of the glenoid bone;
- and
- generate a model of a final glenoid implant for the patient based on the virtual pre-operative analysis.
