Method for duplicating near field communication card and electronic device therefor

An electronic device comprising:

• a wireless communication circuit configured to support a Near Field Communication (NFC) protocol;
• a display;
• a processor operatively connected to the wireless communication circuit and the display;
• and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to:
• receive a first input for registering card information of an external card supporting NFC in the electronic device, receive Radio Frequency (RF) parameters including an Answer to Request (ATQA), a Selection Acknowledge (SAK), and a Unique Identifier (UID) from the external card through the wireless communication circuit, based on the first input, store the received RF parameters identify whether the external card is a specified type of card, based on the received SAK, register the card information by obtaining a data block from the external card using a default key, based on the external card being the specified type of card, receive a second input for using the registered card information, determine at least some of the stored RF parameters for using the card information, based on the card information of the external card being the specified type of card, and communicate with an external electronic device using the determined at least some of stored RF parameters for using the card information, through the wireless communication circuit.

A method of operating an electronic device, the method comprising:

• receiving a user input for selecting card information;
• in response to the selection of the card information, identifying information indicating a type of the card information;
• based on the information indicating the type of the card information, changing a configuration of a near field communication controller (NFCC) to use at least one Radio Frequency (RF) parameter related to the card information;
• and transmitting the at least one RF parameter to an external reader device through the NFCC wherein the information indicating the type of the card information is generated by storing information which can be acquired without any authentication using a key when an original card of the card information is a specified type card, and wherein the at least one RF parameter includes a Selection Acknowledge (SAK) for the external reader device to identify whether the type of the copy information corresponds a specified type of card.
