Abstract
Methods and apparatus are described to automatically re-enable monitoring of a bypassed security sensor by a security system control device.
Claims18
A method performed by a security system control device in a security system, the security system comprising the security system control device and one or more security sensors separate from and coupled to the security system control device, the method comprising:
- receiving a first command to bypass a first security sensor of the one or more security sensors;
- in response to receiving the first command, ignoring alarm signals received from the first security sensor;
- receiving a second command to change a mode of operation of the security system;
- and
- in response to receiving the second command, begin processing future alarm signals received from the first security sensor.
A security system control device used in a security system, the security system comprising the security system control device and one or more security sensors separate from and coupled to the security system control device, the security system control device comprising:
- a receiver for receiving alarm signals from the one or more security sensors;
- a memory for storing processor-executable instructions;
- a processor, coupled to the receiver and the memory, for executing the processor-executable instructions that causes the security system control device to:
- receive, by the processor via the receiver, a first command to bypass a first security sensor of the one or more security sensors;
- in response to receiving the first command, ignore, by the processor, alarm signals received from the first security sensor via the receiver;
- receive, by the processor, a second command to change a mode of operation of the security system;
- and
- in response to receiving the second command, begin to process, by the processor, future alarm signals received from the first security sensor.
