Automated code generation for computer software

A computer-implemented method of automatic query generation that is executable by a processor, the method comprising:

• receiving, via a user interface (UI), a user input related to a rule and identification of a plurality of data sources for applying the rule;
• generating a rule script according to the rule;
• automatically generating a data source script according to the user input;
• automatically generating a model from the data source script by,—representing the plurality of data sources as nodes in the model, and generating edges between the nodes to represent an array of relationships between the plurality of data sources, wherein the edges are formed based on an array of one or more of join and union criteria between at least two of the plurality of data sources;
• automatically generating a data source query from the model;
• executing the data source query to generate a data set;
• automatically generating a rule query from the rule script;
• executing the rule query on the dataset;
• and outputting a result set of the rule query execution via the UI.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium on which is stored machine-readable instructions that when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

• receive via a user interface (UI), user input regarding updates to a rule pertaining to data stored in a plurality of data sources;
• automatically generate a script from the user input, wherein the script includes at least an identification of the plurality of data sources and an array of relationships between the plurality of data sources, wherein the array of relationships between the plurality of data sources are formed, based at least on one of reference keys and an array of one or more of join and union criteria;
• automatically generate a model from the script by representing the plurality of data sources are represented as nodes in the model, generating edges between the nodes that represent the array of relationships between the plurality of data sources, wherein the edges are formed based on an array of one or more of join and union criteria between at least two of the plurality of data sources, and directions of one or more of the edges are based at least on one of metadata of corresponding data sources from the plurality of data sources being connected by the one or more edges and the user input regarding the rule;
• automatically generate queries from the model and the script, wherein the queries include a rule query including the updates to the rule, and a data source query for aggregating the plurality of data sources according to the user input;
• and output a result set obtained by executing the queries.
