Method and apparatus for network security

An access and mobility management function (AMF), the AMF comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor configured to control the transceiver to:
• receive, from a user equipment (UE), a first message comprising data of a first type,
• transmit, to the UE, a second message indicating that an integrity check related to the first message has failed, and
• receive, from the UE, a retransmission of the first message excluding the data of the first type.

A method, by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:

• transmitting, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a first message comprising data of a first type;
• receiving, from the AMF, a second message indicating that an integrity check related to the first message has failed;
• and
• in response to receiving the second message, retransmitting the first message excluding the data of the first type.

A user equipment (UE) comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit one or more messages to one or more network entities and receive one or more messages from one or more network entities;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• transmit, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a first message comprising data of a first type,
• receive, from the AMF, a second message indicating that an integrity check related to the first message has failed, and
• in response to receiving the second message, retransmitting the first message excluding the data of the first type.
