Power converter

A power converter comprising:

• a switch having
• a first terminal that receives a first AC voltage supplied from an AC power supply, and
• a second terminal connected to an AC input node;
• a capacitor that is connected to a DC node and stores DC power;
• an AC output node connected to an inversion unit output and an output supplying power to a load;
• a conversion unit that transmits and receives electric power between the AC input node and the DC node;
• and
• a controller, wherein
• in a first mode, the controller turns on the switch after controlling the conversion unit such that a frequency and a phase of a second AC voltage supplied from the conversion unit to the second terminal match a frequency and a phase of the first AC voltage supplied from the AC power supply to the first terminal supplied from the AC power supply to the first terminal, and
• in a second mode after the first mode, the controller controls the conversion unit such that a DC voltage supplied from the conversion unit to the DC node attains to a reference voltage.
