A display device including a lower cover; a circuit substrate on the lower cover; a plurality of light sources disposed on a first portion of the circuit substrate; a reflection layer disposed on a second portion of the circuit substrate; a first adhesive disposed between the second portion of the circuit substrate and the reflection layer; a light regulator including light regulating patterns disposed in the reflection layer; and an optical sheet disposed on the light sources.

A display device comprising:
- a liquid crystal panel;
- a backlight unit providing light to the liquid crystal panel;
- and
- a lower cover,
- wherein the backlight unit is disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the lower cover, and
- wherein the backlight unit includes:
- a circuit substrate on the lower cover;
- a plurality of light sources disposed on the circuit substrate, wherein the plurality of light sources are mounted on the circuit substrate by surface-mounting;
- a reflection layer disposed on the circuit substrate;
- a first adhesive disposed between the circuit substrate and the reflection layer;
- a light regulator including light regulating patterns disposed in the reflection layer, wherein the light regulating patterns change in size according to a position relative to the plurality of light sources;
- and
- an optical sheet disposed on the plurality of light sources.

- a liquid crystal panel;
- a backlight unit providing light to the liquid crystal panel;

- a lower cover,
- wherein the backlight unit is disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the lower cover,
- wherein the backlight unit includes:
- a circuit substrate on the lower cover;
- a plurality of light sources disposed on the circuit substrate, wherein the plurality of light sources are mounted on the circuit substrate by surface-mounting;
- a reflection layer disposed on the circuit substrate;
- an adhesive disposed between the circuit substrate and the reflection layer, wherein the circuit substrate and the reflection layer are indirectly and partially connected through the adhesive;
- an optical sheet disposed on the plurality of light sources;
- and
- a spacer forming a gap between the reflection layer and the optical sheet, and
- wherein the reflection layer includes a spacing where a respective light source of the plurality of light sources is placed.
