A method of fabricating a lower mandrel for a cap logo applicator, comprising:
- providing a structure having a curved, non-cylindrical surface, and a relief space in the back such that when a cap is positioned thereon, a front of the cap is in contact with the non-cylindrical surface and a top of the cap extends over the relief space, the structure having a first end and a second end;
- positioning an extension to extend from the first end of the structure to the second end of the structure;
- and
- positioning a first pad on an upper surface of the structure;
- wherein positioning the first pad further comprises positioning the first pad to extend radially beyond both the first end and the second end and so that the first pad wraps around the first end and the second end at a bottom surface of the structure.
