Abstract
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed.
Claims20
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite, wherein said method comprises:
- gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical instrument comprising jaws movable through a closure stroke, and wherein gathering data comprises monitoring the position of the jaws relative to one another throughout a movement of the jaws during use of the surgical instrument;
- analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the surgical instrument in a future use of the surgical instrument;
- and
- adjusting the operation of the surgical instrument to improve the operation of the surgical instrument.

- gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical instrument comprising jaws movable through an opening stroke, and wherein gathering data comprises monitoring the position of the jaws relative to one another throughout a movement of the jaws during use of the surgical instrument;

A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite, wherein said method comprises:
- gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical instrument comprising clip applier jaws moveable through a crimping stroke, and wherein gathering data comprises monitoring stages of a clip formation process of a clip applied by the clip applier jaws;
- analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the surgical instrument in a future use of the surgical instrument;
- and
- adjusting the operation of the surgical instrument to improve the operation of the surgical instrument.
