Systems and methods for controlling discharge of a mixer drum

A mixer vehicle comprising:

• a mixer drum configured to rotate to mix a material within the mixer drum;
• a first sensor coupled with the mixer drum and configured to generate a disturbed sensor signal affected by the material within the mixer drum as the first sensor passes through the material within the mixer drum;
• a second sensor coupled with the mixer drum and configured to generate a baseline sensor signal;
• a controller configured to:
• obtain the disturbed sensor signal and the baseline sensor signal from the first sensor and the second sensor;
• determine an amount of noise in the disturbed sensor signal relative to the baseline sensor signal based on a comparison between the baseline sensor signal and the disturbed sensor signal;
• use the amount of noise in the disturbed sensor signal to determine a presence of material and a property of the material within the mixer drum;
• determine if the material within the mixer drum is ready for discharge or not by comparing the property of the material to an acceptable range;
• and
• limit discharge of the material from the mixer drum in response to determining that the property of the material is not within the acceptable range.
