Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for streaming live television broadcasts and providing DVR services to subscribers in a designated market area.
Claims17
A user device comprising:
- a touch screen display device and one or more computers, the one or more computers configured by installed software to perform operations comprising:
- displaying, in a first display area of the touch screen display device, a television program guide showing program information about television programs in a grid of times and channels and, in a particular grid element, in addition to the program information, a hyperlink provided by a station broadcasting the program;
- and
- responding to a user selection of the hyperlink by opening a web browser in a window on the display device and displaying in the web browser an Internet resource identified by the hyperlink.
The user device of claimer 1, wherein the operations further comprise:
- responding to a diagonal swiping motion on the first display area of the touch screen display device while the program guide is being displayed, wherein the swiping motion crosses two or more times and two or more channels, by changing the display of both times and channels according to a direction of the swiping motion.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media encoded with instructions that, when executed by a user device comprising a touch screen display device and one or more computers, cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- displaying, in a first display area of the touch screen display device, a television program guide showing program information about television programs in a grid of times and channels and, in a particular grid element, in addition to the program information, a hyperlink provided by a station broadcasting the program;
- and
- responding to a user selection of the hyperlink by opening a web browser in a window on the display device and displaying in the web browser an Internet resource identified by the hyperlink.
A user device comprising:
- a touch screen display device and one or more computers, the one or more computers configured by installed software to perform operations comprising:
- displaying, in a program area of the touch screen display device, a streamed television program received by a streaming service from a television station on a first television channel;
- and
- responding to a horizontal swiping motion on the program area of the touch screen display device, while the television program is being displayed, by changing the display to displaying a different television program being received by the service on a neighboring channel according to a direction of the swiping motion.
