Abstract
Disclosed is a heating element for use in heating aerosolizable material to volatilize at least one component of the aerosolizable material. The heating element includes a heat resistant support and a coating on the support. The coating includes cobalt.

A heating element for use in heating aerosolizable material to volatilize at least one component of the aerosolizable material, the heating element comprising:
- a heat resistant support located between two volumes of
- a coating comprising cobalt;
- wherein the support comprises one or more materials selected from the group consisting of a metal and a metal alloy;
- and
- wherein the heating element is planar or substantially planar.
