Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and receiving a preemption indication

A method performed by a base station, the method comprising:

• transmitting first information to a first User Equipment (UE), wherein the first information comprises information on a number of downlink symbols configured in a slot;
• transmitting second information to the first UE in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling;
• and
• transmitting a preemption indication to the first UE, and
• wherein a first resource set is based on the first information,
• wherein the preemption indication indicates that a first transmission of a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) to the first UE is preempted in a first portion of resources within the first resource set, by a second transmission related to a latency requirement, and
• wherein, whether the first portion of resources is associated with one of contiguous portions into which a bandwidth configured for the first UE is equally divided into in a frequency domain, is indicated by the second information.

A first User Equipment (UE) comprising:

• a memory storing instructions;
• and
• at least one hardware processor configured to process the instructions to:
• receive first information from a base station, wherein the first information comprises information on a number of downlink symbols configured in a slot;
• receive second information from the base station in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling;
• receive a preemption indication from the base station;
• determine a first resource set based on the first information;
• identify, based on the preemption indication, that a first transmission of a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) to the first UE is preempted in a first portion of resources within the first resource set, by a second transmission related to a latency requirement;
• and
• determine, based on the second information, whether the first portion of resources is associated with one of contiguous portions into which a bandwidth configured for the first UE is equally divided in a frequency domain.
