Completion mechanism for transmission using preconfigured uplink resource

A wireless device configured to operate in a wireless communication system, the wireless device comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• at least processor;
• and
• at least one computer memory operably connectable to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:
• receiving, from a network, a configuration of a preconfigured uplink resource (PUR);
• while in a radio resource control (RRC) idle state and/or an RRC inactive state:
• i) performing uplink (UL) data transmission using the PUR to the network;
• ii) attempting to acquire downlink (DL) information on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) from the network;
• and
• iii) based on the DL information including a timing advance command (TAC) media access control (MAC) control element (CE) but not including an acknowledgement of the UL data transmission, considering that the UL data transmission using the PUR is successful.

A wireless device configured to operate in a wireless communication system, the wireless device comprising:

• at least processor;
• and
• at least one computer memory operably connectable to the at least one processor,
• wherein the at least one processor is configured to perform operations comprising:
• acquiring a configuration of a preconfigured uplink resource (PUR);
• while in a radio resource control (RRC) idle state and/or an RRC inactive state:
• i) controlling the wireless device to perform uplink (UL) data transmission using the PUR to the network;
• ii) attempting to acquire downlink (DL) information on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) from the network;
• and
• iii) based on the DL information including a timing advance command (TAC) media access control (MAC) control element (CE) but not including an acknowledgement of the UL data transmission, considering that the UL data transmission using the PUR is successful.
