Configurations for dynamic indication of soft resource availability

A non-transitory computer-readable media comprising instructions to cause an electronic device, upon execution of the instructions by one or more processors of the electronic device, to perform:

• determining, by an IAB node comprising a mobile termination (MT) block and a co-located distributed unit (DU) block of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) wireless network, two slot format indications (SFIs) by configuring the co-located DU block, the two SFIs indications comprising a first SFI that indicates a resource availability for communicating with a parent node and a second SFI that indicates a soft resource availability for communicating with a child node, wherein each of the two SFIs comprise at least one RRC-configured slot formats;
• and
• transmitting the two SFI indications to a second DU block;
• wherein the instructions cause the electronic device, upon execution of the instructions, to perform configuring a first DU block of the IAB wireless network with a plurality of slot format lists, each list of the plurality of slot format lists corresponding to one child link of the first DU;
• wherein each child link is configured with a slot format combination based on a multi-slot scheduling mechanism.

An apparatus comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more computer-readable media comprising instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
• determining, by an IAB node comprising a mobile termination (MT) block and a co-located distributed unit (DU) block of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) wireless network, two slot format indications (SFIs) by configuring the co-located DU block, the two SFIs indications comprising a first SFI that indicates a resource availability for communicating with a parent node and a second SFI that indicates a soft resource availability for communicating with a child node, wherein each of the two SFIs comprise at least one RRC-configured slot formats;
• and
• transmitting the two SFI indications to a second DU block;
• wherein the operations further comprise configuring a first DU block of the IAB wireless network with a plurality of slot format lists, each list of the plurality of slot format lists corresponding to one child link of the first DU;
• and
• wherein each child link is configured with a slot format combination based on a multi-slot scheduling mechanism.
