Method and device for uplink power control

A method performed by a base station in a communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a terminal, information on bandwidth parts (BWPs);
• transmitting, to the terminal, downlink control information (DCI) including information indicating BWP switching;
• performing the BWP switching to a BWP indicated by the information;
• and
• transmitting, to the terminal, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on the BWP from a beginning of a slot,
• indicated by an offset of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduled by the DCI,
• wherein the PDCCH is not transmitted on the BWP during a time duration from a slot where the terminal receives the DCI until the beginning of the slot, and
• wherein the information on the BWPs indicates one of the BWPs for the BWP switching.

A terminal in a communication system, the terminal comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• receive, from a base station, information on bandwidth parts (BWPs),
• receive, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) including information indicating bandwidth part BWP switching,
• perform the BWP switching to a BWP indicated by the information, and
• receive, from the base station, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on the BWP from a beginning of a slot,
• indicated by an offset of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduled by the DCI,
• wherein the PDCCH is not received on the BWP during a time duration from a slot where the terminal receives the DCI until the beginning of the slot, and
• wherein the information on the BWPs indicates one of the BWPs for the BWP switching.

A base station in a communication system, the base station comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• transmit, to a terminal, information on bandwidth parts (BWPs),
• transmit, to the terminal, downlink control information (DCI) including information indicating BWP switching,
• perform the BWP switching to a BWP indicated by the information, and
• transmit, to the terminal, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on the BWP from a beginning of a slot,
• indicated by an offset of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduled by the DCI,
• wherein the PDCCH is not transmitted on the BWP during a time duration from a slot where the terminal receives the DCI until the beginning of the slot, and
• wherein the information on the BWPs indicates one of the BWPs for the BWP switching.
