Abstract
Systems and methods are described for selecting equipment and operators necessary to provide agricultural services. Systems and methods are also described for scheduling the selected agricultural services and for rescheduling the scheduled agricultural services in response to events identified to be of potential impact to the services. The systems and methods are useful for increasing the utilization factor of equipment and equipment operators used in agriculture.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method for scheduling equipment and an operator necessary to provide an agricultural service to a producer, the method to be carried out by at least one processor executing computer instructions, the method comprising;
- obtaining, by an information manager, a producer record including a plurality of producer information fields about the producer, one or more equipment supplier records including a plurality of associated equipment records for one or more pieces of equipment controlled by one or more equipment suppliers, and one or more operator records including a plurality of operator information fields about one or more operators;
- receiving, by the information manager, one or more agricultural service requirements related to the agricultural service;
- determining a plurality of pairing scores between the one or more agricultural service requirements, the plurality of associated equipment records, and the one or more operator records based on compatibility scores;
- producing, by the information manager for the agricultural service and according to the plurality of pairing scores, one or more candidate pairings comprising an operator of the one or more operators and a piece of equipment of the one or more pieces of equipment;
- and
- sending, by the information manager, the one or more candidate pairings to a device of the producer;
- scheduling the agricultural service according to a selection by the producer from the one or more candidate pairings;
- updating a global calendar of scheduled agricultural services between a plurality of producers, a plurality of operators, and a plurality of pieces of equipment with the agricultural service;
- communicating control information to an agricultural measurement sensor to control the agricultural measurement sensor to take an agricultural measurement, the agricultural measurement including at least one of a soil measurement of an agricultural site, a volumetric measurement associated with an agricultural storage container, and a weight measurement associated with an agricultural storage container;
- receiving the agricultural measurement from the agricultural measurement sensor in response to the control information;
- generating an information update according to the agricultural measurement;
- dynamically rescheduling the agricultural service based on the information update;
- and
- updating the global calendar of scheduled agricultural services according to the rescheduled agricultural service.
A computer-implemented method for scheduling equipment and an operator necessary to provide an agricultural service to a producer, the method to be carried out by at least one processor executing computer instructions, the method comprising:
- obtaining, by an information manager, a producer record including a plurality of producer information fields about the producer, one or more equipment supplier records including a plurality of associated equipment records including equipment record information fields for one or more pieces of equipment controlled by one or more equipment suppliers, and one or more operator records including a plurality of operator information fields about one or more operators;
- receiving, by the information manager, one or more agricultural service requirements related to the agricultural service;
- communicating location control information to a location transceiver associated with each of the one or more pieces of equipment to instruct the taking of location measurements;
- receiving the location measurements from the location transceiver associated with each of the one or more pieces of equipment;
- tracking, by the information manager, equipment locations of the one or more pieces of equipment according to the location measurements;
- updating the plurality of associated equipment records according to the equipment locations;
- obtaining one or more producer preferences associated with reliability of a piece of equipment and a reputational rating of an operator of equipment;
- determining a plurality of pairing scores between the one or more agricultural service requirements, the plurality of associated equipment records, and the one or more operator records based on compatibility scores;
- producing, by the information manager for the agricultural service and according to the plurality of pairing scores, one or more candidate pairings comprising an operator of the one or more operators and a piece of equipment of the one or more pieces of equipment;
- sending, by the information manager, the one or more candidate pairings to a device of the producer;
- scheduling the agricultural service according to a selection by the producer from the one or more candidate pairings;
- updating a global calendar of scheduled services between a plurality of producers, a plurality of operators, and a plurality of pieces of equipment with the agricultural service;
- communicating control information to an agricultural measurement sensor via a wireless cellular network to control the agricultural measurement sensor to take an agricultural measurement, the agricultural measurement including at least one of a soil measurement of an agricultural site, a volumetric measurement associated with an agricultural storage container, and a weight measurement associated with an agricultural storage container;
- receiving the agricultural measurement from the agricultural measurement sensor in response to the control information;
- generating an information update according to the agricultural measurement;
- dynamically rescheduling the agricultural service based on the information update;
- and updating the global calendar of scheduled services.
A system for automatic rescheduling of agricultural service operations, the system comprising:
- an agricultural measurement sensor, including at least one of a soil sensor associated with an agricultural site, a volumetric sensor or weight sensor associated with an agricultural storage container, and a weather sensor;
- a server including at least one processor configured to:
- communicate control information to the agricultural measurement sensor to control the agricultural measurement sensor to take an agricultural measurement, the agricultural measurement including at least one of a soil measurement of an agricultural site, a volumetric measurement associated with an agricultural storage container, and a weight measurement associated with an agricultural storage container;
- receive the agricultural measurement from the agricultural measurement sensor in response to the control information;
- schedule an agricultural service between a producer, a first equipment supplier, and a first operator according to the agricultural measurement and at least equipment availability, operator availability, equipment compatibility, and operator compatibility;
- prior to the scheduled agricultural service taking place, communicate second control information to a second agricultural measurement sensor to control the second agricultural measurement sensor to take a second agricultural measurement, the second agricultural measurement comprising a weather measurement;
- receive the second agricultural measurement from the second agricultural measurement sensor in response to the second control information;
- responsive to receiving the second agricultural measurement from the second agricultural measurement sensor, reschedule the agricultural service between the producer, the first equipment supplier or a second equipment supplier, and the first operator or a second operator according to the second agricultural measurement and at least equipment availability, operator availability, equipment compatibility, and operator compatibility;
- and
- responsive to rescheduling the agricultural service, updating a calendar for the producer, the first equipment supplier, and the first operator.
