Executing diagnostic software to test the functionality of a component for use during a video conference

An apparatus, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to:
• obtain, from a reservation system, meeting information that indicates one or more components arranged in a physical space for use during a video conference;
• execute diagnostic software to test the functionality of one or more components based on the meeting information, wherein functionality of the diagnostic software includes determining a configuration of a component of the one or more components and comparing the configuration to a parameter associated with the component to detect that the component is in a condition that limits the functionality of the component for use during the video conference;
• and
• initiate a response, based on an output of the diagnostic software, to change the condition of the component to increase the functionality of the component.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions operable to cause one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• obtaining, from a reservation system, meeting information that indicates one or more components arranged in a physical space for use during a video conference;
• executing, by a conference device, diagnostic software to test the functionality of the one or more components based on the meeting information, wherein functionality of the diagnostic software includes determining a configuration of a component of the one or more components and comparing the configuration to a parameter associated with the component to detect that the component is in a condition that limits the functionality of the component for use during the video conference;
• and
• initiating, by the conference device, a response, based on an output of the diagnostic software, to change the condition of the component to increase the functionality of the component.
