Novel dual 5-HT1A and 5-HT7 receptor ligands and methods of using the novel ligands to treat a neurological disorder are presented.

A compound comprising Formula (I), (II), (III), or (IV):
- wherein X is C═O or CH2 and R1 is AcHN or NH2;
- wherein R3 is Cl or H;
- wherein R4 is Cl, F, I, Br or H;
- wherein R5 is CH3 or H;
- wherein R6 is ═O, H or OH;
- and
- wherein n is an integer from 1 to 3.
