Abstract
A 5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-hexyl-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-phenyl-1H-imidazole compound, its synthesis, and its use as an antimicrobial agent.
Claims6
A method of making a 5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-hexyl-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-phenyl-1H-imidazole compound, the method comprising:
- mixing 4-methoxybenzil, 4-nitrobenzaldehyde, ammonium acetate, and hexylamine in a pyridinium ionic liquid to obtain a blend;
- heating the blend in an oil bath to form a precipitate;
- washing and recrystallizing the precipitate;
- and
- obtaining the 5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1-hexyl-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-phenyl-1H-imidazole compound.
