Scalable diversity deployment for wide tuning range transceiver

A method of operating a wireless communication system, comprising:

• determining a first bandwidth of a first receiver of the wireless communication system;
• determining a second bandwidth of a second receiver of the wireless communication system;
• and
• based on the first bandwidth and the second bandwidth at least partially overlapping, operating the wireless communication system by operating each of the first and second receivers as a diversity receiver for a first portion of an operational bandwidth of the wireless communication system and as a combined multi-receiver diversity receiver for a second portion of the operational bandwidth.

A wireless communication system, comprising:

• a first transmitter having a first bandwidth;
• a second transmitter having a second bandwidth;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• based on the first bandwidth and the second bandwidth at least partially overlapping, operate the wireless communication system by configuring each of the first and second transmitters to operate as a diversity transmitter for a first portion of an operational bandwidth of the wireless communication system and as a combined multi-transmitter diversity transmitter for a second portion of the operational bandwidth.

A method of operating a wireless communication system, comprising:

• determining a first bandwidth of a first transmitter of the wireless communication system;
• determining a second bandwidth of a second transmitter of the wireless communication system;
• and
• based on the first bandwidth and the second bandwidth at least partially overlapping, operating the wireless communication system by operating each of the first and second transmitters as a diversity transmitter for a first portion of an operational bandwidth of the wireless communication system and as a combined multi-transmitter diversity transmitter for a second portion of the operational bandwidth.
