Method and system for acquiring information about an accessory of a vehicle

A system for acquiring information of an accessory connected to a vehicle, the system comprising:

• a vehicle control unit arranged in the vehicle, the vehicle control unit being configured to:
• acquire an accessory identifier from the accessory, the accessory comprising a trailer configured to hold cargo;
• transmit the accessory identifier to a remote server comprising accessory information;
• receive, from the remote server, the accessory information to the vehicle control unit, the accessory information corresponding to the accessory identifier, wherein the accessory information comprises a control program for controlling a functionality of the accessory:
• and
• transfer weight information about the accessory to the vehicle.

A system for acquiring information of an accessory connected to a vehicle, the system comprising:

• a vehicle control unit arranged in the vehicle, the vehicle control unit being configured to:
• acquire an accessory identifier from the accessory, the accessory comprising a bodywork configured to hold cargo;
• transmit the accessory identifier to a remote server comprising accessory information;
• and
• receive, from the remote server, the accessory information to the vehicle control unit, the accessory information corresponding to the accessory identifier, wherein the accessory information comprises a control program for controlling a functionality of the accessory:
• and
• a built-in control device in a cabin of the vehicle configured to provide driver control of the bodywork.
