System and method for representing virtual object information with haptic stimulation

A system for providing haptic information, the system comprising:

• a processing system in communication with an extended reality platform comprising an object, wherein the processing system:
• receives information associated with a first location, the first location corresponding to a location of the object;
• determines a proximity metric based on the first location and a second location corresponding to a first body region of a user, wherein the second location is determined based on an aggregated distance, wherein the aggregated distance is determined based on distances between a first and second body region of each of a set of users;
• and
• determines a stimulation pattern based on the proximity metric, wherein the stimulation pattern is applied at the set of haptic actuators of a haptic stimulation device, wherein the haptic stimulation device is configured to be coupled to the user at the second body region of the user.
