Abstract
A coordinated data backup for a container system that includes: determining, by a control layer of a container system, a dependency between a first service and a second service, where the first service and the second service are part of a set of services of an application; determining, based on the dependency, a backup sequence of first data associated with the first service and second data associated with the second service, where the backup sequence maintains consistency of one or more operations between the first service and the second service; and generating, based on the backup sequence, backup data comprising the first data and the second data.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining, by a control layer of a container system based on log data collected from a service mesh that handles service-to-service communications for a set of services of an application, a dependency between a first service and a second service, wherein the first service and the second service are part of the set of services of the application;
- determining, based on the determination of the dependency based on the log data collected from the service mesh, a backup sequence of first data associated with the first service and second data associated with the second service, wherein the backup sequence maintains consistency of one or more operations between the first service and the second service;
- and
- generating, based on the backup sequence, backup data comprising the first data and the second data.
A method comprising:
- determining, in a cloud computing environment based on log data collected from a service mesh that handles service-to-service communications for a set of services of an application, a dependency between a first service of the set of services and a second service of the set of services;
- determining a first dataset associated with the first service;
- determining a second dataset associated with the second service;
- determining, based on the determination of the dependency based on the log data collected from the service mesh, a backup sequence indicative of an order in which to generate backup data for the first service and the second service;
- and
- generating, based on the backup sequence, backup data comprising the first dataset and the second dataset.
A system comprising:
- one or more memories storing computer-executable instructions;
- and
- one or more processors to execute the computer-executable instructions to:
- determine, based on log data collected from a service mesh that handles service-to-service communications for a set of services of a containerized application, a dependency between a first service and a second service of the set of services of the containerized application;
- determine, based on the determination of the dependency based on the log data collected from the service mesh, a backup sequence of first data associated with the first service and second data associated with the second service, wherein the backup sequence maintains consistency of one or more operations between the first service and the second service;
- and
- generate, based on the backup sequence, backup data comprising the first data and the second data, the backup data representing an application-consistent backup of the containerized application.
