Abstract
An exercise system includes an exercise machine and an exercise handle coupled to the exercise machine via a cable, the exercise handle comprising a set of sensors. The set of sensors is used to detect a location of a portion of a user's hand on the exercise handle.
Claims10
An exercise system, comprising:
- an exercise machine;
- and
- an exercise handle coupled to the exercise machine via a cable, the exercise handle comprising a set of sensors;
- wherein the set of sensors is used to detect:
- a location of a thumb of a user's hand on the exercise handle and an orientation of the exercise handle;
- and
- an observed pressure mapping;
- and
- wherein whether a right hand or a left hand of the user is holding the exercise handle is determined, by a processor, based at least in part on:
- the detected location of the thumb of the user's hand on the exercise handle and the orientation of the exercise handle;
- and
- a comparison of the observed pressure mapping against an expected pressure mapping, wherein the expected pressure mapping is associated with a particular exercise movement.
