Cannabidiol and active delivery systems

A cannabidiol gelled delivery composition, consisting essentially of:

• 1 wt. % to 20 wt. % of a rheology modifier;
• 50 wt. % to 90 wt. % of an emollient selected from the group consisting of hemisqualane, C9-12 alkane, jojoba oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, coco caprylate/caprate, octyldodecanol, and mixtures thereof;
• and
• 2 wt. % to 40 wt. % of a cannabidiol selected from the group consisting of a cannabidiol broad spectrum oil, a cannabidiol full spectrum oil, a cannabidiol isolate and mixtures thereof,
• wherein the rheology modifier is an organoclay, which is a smectite clay exchanged with a quaternary ammonium cation having a formula of [N—R1R2R3R4]+, and
• wherein:
• R1 comprises a group selected from (i) linear or branched aliphatic, aralkyl, or aromatic hydrocarbon groups having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms or (ii) alkyl or alkyl-ester groups having 8 to 30 carbon atoms;
• and
• R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of linear or branched aliphatic, aralkyl and aromatic groups having from 1 to about 30 carbon atoms.
