Inductive sensor with improved safety

A method, comprising:

• receiving a plurality of signals on a safety path of an inductive sensor, wherein the plurality of signal comprises:
• a first signal received from a first angle measurement path of the inductive sensor or a second angle measurement path of the inductive sensor, and
• a second signal received from an amplitude regulation path of the inductive sensor;
• and
• performing one or more safety checks on the safety path based on the plurality of signals, wherein each safety check of the one or more safety checks is associated with at least one of the first angle measurement path, the second angle measurement path, or the amplitude regulation path.

An inductive sensor, comprising:

• a first measurement path associated with determining a position of a first object based on a first set of input signals;
• a second measurement path associated with determining a position of a second object based on a second set of input signals;
• an amplitude regulation path associated with regulating amplitudes of a set of output signals;
• and
• a safety path associated with assessing functionality of at least one of the first measurement path, the second measurement path, or the amplitude regulation path.
