3D imaging with simultaneous treatment and non-treatment imaging beams

A method comprising:

• turning on, by a processing device of an X-ray imaging and radiation delivery system, a therapeutic X-ray beam to initiate a radiation treatment session and deliver the therapeutic X-ray beam from a therapeutic X-ray source to a target as the therapeutic X-ray source travels about the target;
• turning off, by the processing device, the therapeutic X-ray beam to end the radiation treatment session;
• acquiring, by the processing device during the radiation treatment session, imaging data associated with the target by causing one or more X-ray imaging sources to deliver one or more imaging X-ray beams through the target to one or more X-ray detectors, wherein the one or more X-ray imaging sources and the therapeutic X-ray source are positioned to simultaneously direct the therapeutic X-ray beam and the one or more imaging X-ray beams to the target;
• and
• constructing, by the processing device, one or more volumetric images using the imaging data.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions which, when executed by a processing device of an X-ray imaging and therapy system, cause the processing device to:

• turn on a therapeutic X-ray beam to initiate a radiation treatment session and deliver the therapeutic X-ray beam from a therapeutic X-ray source to a target as the therapeutic X-ray source travels about the target;
• turn off the therapeutic X-ray beam to end the radiation treatment session;
• acquire, during the radiation treatment session, imaging data associated with the target by causing one or more X-ray imaging sources to deliver one or more imaging X-ray beams through the target to one or more X-ray detectors, wherein the one or more X-ray imaging sources and the therapeutic X-ray source are positioned to simultaneously direct the therapeutic X-ray beam and the one or more imaging X-ray beams to the target;
• and
• construct one or more volumetric images using the imaging data.
