Disclosed is a method of topically applying a composition to skin. The method can include topically applying to skin the composition, where the composition comprises an extract from Kunzea ericoides, Quassia undulata, Khaya senegalensis, Biophytum petersianum, Detarium microcarpum, Crossopteryx febrofiga, Allophylus africanus, Burkea Africana, Nauclea latifolia, Bombax costatum, Buchanania reticulata, Melanorrhoea laccifera, Machilus odoratissimus, Spondias pinnata, Canthium dicoccum, Parinari annamensis, Aporosa tetrapleura, Knema globularia, Garcinia gaudichaudii, Randia dasycarpa, Capparis micrantha, or Garcinia benthami.
A method of treating a skin condition comprising dermatitis, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, melasmic skin, age spots, skin discoloration, freckles, and/or inflamed skin, the method comprising topically applying to skin having the skin condition a composition comprising an effective amount of an extract of Bombax costatum to treat the skin condition, wherein the extract of Bombax costatum is:
