Abstract
The present invention relates to topical compositions comprising at least one liquid UV-filter and a nano-sized 1,4-di(benzoxazol-2′-yl)benzene.
Claims7
A topical composition comprising, based on total weight of the topical composition:
- 1 to 25 wt. % of at least one light-absorbing UV-filter oil which absorbs light in a UVB and/or UVA wavelength range and which is liquid at ambient temperature, and
- 0.5 to 10 wt. % of micronized solid amorphous particles of 1,4-di(benzoxazol-2′-yl)benzene (DBO) which have a mean particle size Dn50 determined by laser diffraction of from 50 nm to 300 nm and a ratio of UVB to UVA wavelength absorbance of 0.47 to 0.51, and wherein
- the topical composition has a greater sun protection factor (SPF) and better storage stability as compared to the same composition which comprises crystalline particles of DBO instead of the micronized solid amorphous particles thereof.
