Content recommendations using personas

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
• selecting content for a persona, the content selected based on an interest of a character defining the persona, the selected content for the persona comprising first digital content that shares a genre or theme corresponding to the interest of the character defining the persona;
• detecting digital content previously selected by a user;
• identifying, from among the digital content previously selected by the user, second digital content that share the genre or theme corresponding to the interest of the character defining the persona;
• generating a content list for the persona by combining the first digital content of the persona and the second digital content that shares the genre or theme corresponding to the interest of the character defining the persona;
• and
• causing display of the persona on a device of the user, the persona being selectable to cause playing of the content list generated for the persona.

A non-transitory machine-storage medium having instructions that, when executed by one or more hardware processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

• selecting content for a persona, the content selected based on an interest of a character defining the persona, the selected content for the persona comprising first digital content that shares a genre or theme corresponding to the interest of the character defining the persona;
• detecting digital content previously selected by a user;
• identifying, from among the digital content previously selected by the user, second digital content that share the genre or theme corresponding to the interest of the character defining the persona;
• generating a content list for the persona by combining the first digital content of the persona and the second digital content that shares the genre or theme corresponding to the interest of the character defining the persona;
• and
• causing display of the persona on a device of the user, the persona being selectable to cause playing of the content list generated for the persona.
