Image processing apparatus and method

An image processing method, comprising:

• slicing at least one layer of an octree corresponding to point cloud data to acquire a first slice and a second slice including respective nodes of the octree to eliminate an encoding dependency relationship between the first slice and the second slice, and
• encoding the octree.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon, computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to execute operations, the operations comprising:

• slicing at least one layer of an octree corresponding to point cloud data to acquire a first slice and a second slice including respective nodes of the octree to eliminate an encoding dependency relationship between the first slice and the second slice, and
• encoding the octree.
