Apparatus and method in wireless communication system, and computer-readable storage medium

An electronic device configured to operate as a first user equipment in a New Radio (NR) wireless communication system, the electronic device comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• circuitry configured to:
• acquire a default preconfiguration for sidelink communication from a base station to be used by the first user equipment when the first user equipment is not in range of the base station,
• wherein the default preconfiguration for sidelink communication comprises:
• one or more subcarrier spacings for sidelink communication, and
• one or more cyclic prefix types for sidelink communication;
• acquire a user equipment capability of a second user equipment for sidelink communication,
• wherein the user equipment capability of the second user equipment comprises:
• a cyclic prefix type of the one or more cyclic prefix types, and
• an integer corresponding to a subcarrier spacing of the one or more subcarrier spacings;
• after acquiring the user equipment capability of the second user equipment, determine whether or not the first user equipment is in range of the base station;
• only upon determining the first user equipment is not in range of the base station determine, based on the acquired user equipment capability of the second user equipment, a subcarrier spacing from one or more subcarrier spacings in the default preconfiguration for sidelink communication;
• and
• perform sidelink communication with the second user equipment based on the subcarrier spacing,
• wherein, based on the acquired user equipment capability of the second user equipment, the sidelink communication is performed in accordance with a default preconfiguration specific number of slots in a subframe, a default preconfiguration specific number of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (OFDM) symbols in a slot, and a default preconfiguration specific number of slots in a frame.
