Abstract
Described herein is a system and method for a microservices architecture for dynamic channel migration based on real time traffic load. Traffic loads on a first and second radio frequency (RF) channels used by a transceiver to communicate with a plurality of modem devices may be monitored, where the first RF channel is transmitted at a higher frequency than the second RF channel. Based on the monitored traffic loads of the RF channels, data traffic may be migrated from the first RF channel to the second RF channel. Finally, the plurality of modem devices may be notified of the migration.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- monitoring, by a computing device, traffic loads on a plurality of channels that are used by a transceiver to communicate with a plurality of modem devices;
- comparing, by the computing device, a traffic load on one of the plurality of channels with a channel migration threshold associated with the one of the plurality of channels;
- comparing, by the computing device, a total traffic load on the plurality of channels with a total migration threshold associated with the plurality of channels;
- migrating, by the computing device, data traffic from the one of the plurality of channels to one or more other channels of the plurality of channels based on the traffic load on the one of the plurality of channels being below the channel migration threshold and the total traffic load being below the total migration threshold, wherein different types of data traffic are migrated to different channels;
- and
- redirecting, by the computing device and to the one or more other channels, future requests associated with the transceiver to communicate with the plurality of modem devices.
A method comprising:
- configuring, by a computing device, a plurality of channels associated with a transceiver, wherein the transceiver communicates with a plurality of modem devices via the plurality of channels;
- storing, by the computing device, a channel migration threshold associated with a traffic load on one of the plurality of channels;
- storing, by the computing device, a total migration threshold associated with a total traffic load on the plurality of channels;
- storing, by the computing device, migration rules on migrating data traffic from the one of the plurality of channels to one or more other channels of the plurality of channels based on the traffic load on the one of the plurality of channels being below the channel migration threshold and the total traffic load being below the total migration threshold, wherein the migration rules indicate that different types of data traffic are migrated to different channels;
- and
- managing the data traffic based on the migration rules;
- and
- redirecting, by the computing device and to the one or more other channels, future requests associated with the transceiver to communicate with the plurality of modem devices.
A method comprising:
- migrating, by a computing device, data traffic from a first channel to a plurality of channels associated with a transceiver, wherein the transceiver communicates with a plurality of modem devices via the plurality of channels, and wherein the migrating is based on:
- a traffic load of the first channel being below a channel migration threshold,
- a total traffic load of both the first channel and the plurality of channels being below a total migration threshold, and
- different migration rules for different types of data traffic;
- updating, based on migrating, a migration threshold associated with one of the plurality of channels;
- and
- redirecting, by the computing device and to the one or more other channels, future requests associated with the transceiver to communicate with the plurality of modem devices.
