Beam switching gap configuration at longer cyclic prefix positions

A method of wireless communication, comprising, at a user equipment (UE):

• receiving a configuration indicating whether a beam switching gap is expected at a first symbol position within a subframe of a physical channel for the UE, the first symbol position having a first cyclic prefix length that is longer than a second cyclic prefix length of a second symbol position within the subframe of the physical channel for the UE;
• and
• determining whether a transmission includes a missing symbol for the beam switching gap based on the configuration and the symbol position of a symbol where a beam switch is scheduled.

A method of wireless communication, comprising, at a base station:

• transmitting a configuration indicating whether a beam switching gap is expected at a first symbol position within a subframe of a physical channel for a user equipment (UE), the first symbol position having a first cyclic prefix length that is longer than a second cyclic prefix length of a second symbol position within the subframe of the physical channel for the UE;
• and
• determining whether a transmission includes a missing symbol for the beam switching gap based on the configuration and the symbol position of a symbol where a beam switch is scheduled.
