Arrangements for intraoral scanning

A method comprising:

• determining, by a computer system, a condition that dental impressions have not been received from a user within a threshold time period, the user having been provided with an in-home dental impression kit, wherein exceeding the threshold time period indicates a likelihood of not receiving the dental impressions from the in-home dental impression kit;
• generating and communicating, by the computer system, a message to the user based on the condition, the message prompting the user to schedule an appointment at an intraoral scanning site, the intraoral scanning site having an intraoral scanner configured to conduct an intraoral scan of a mouth of the user;
• and
• causing fabrication, by a fabrication system, of a plurality of aligners based on three-dimensional data generated by the intraoral scan of the mouth of the user, the plurality of aligners specific to the user and configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user.

A system comprising:

• an intraoral scanning site comprising an intraoral scanner configured to conduct an intraoral scan of a mouth of a user to generate three-dimensional data of the mouth of the user;
• and
• a computer system configured to:
• determine a condition that dental impressions have not been received from the user within a threshold time period, the user having been provided with an in-home dental impression kit, wherein exceeding the threshold time period indicates a likelihood of not receiving the dental impressions from the in-home dental impression kit;
• generate and communicate a message to the user based on the condition, the message configured to prompt the user to schedule an appointment at the intraoral scanning site;
• and
• receive a request to schedule an appointment at the intraoral scanning site;
• and
• cause fabrication, by a fabrication system, of a plurality of aligners based on the three-dimensional data generated by the intraoral scan of the mouth of the user.
