Automated schematic check

A computer-implemented method, comprising:

• receiving a design schematic;
• extracting keywords from the design schematic, the extracted keywords including component pin names associated with a plurality of components in the design schematic;
• sorting the design schematic by the extracted keywords to obtain a sorted design schematic, the sorted design schematic including line number annotations to component names to associate a respective component in the sorted design schematic to an order of components in the received design schematic;
• extracting a part number of a component from the sorted design schematic;
• comparing the component associated with the part number with a reference component associated with the part number;
• and
• displaying a result of the comparison indicating whether the component and the reference component match.

A computer-program product tangibly embodied in a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, including instructions configured to cause a data processing apparatus to perform operations including:

• receiving a design schematic;
• extracting keywords from the design schematic, the extracted keywords including component pin names associated with a plurality of components in the design schematic;
• sorting the design schematic by the extracted keywords to obtain a sorted design schematic, the sorted design schematic including line number annotations to component names to associate a respective component in the sorted design schematic to an order of components in the received design schematic;
• extracting a part number of a component from the sorted design schematic;
• comparing the component associated with the part number with a reference component associated with the part number;
• and
• displaying a result of the comparison indicating whether the component and the reference component match.
