Abstract
The capacitance sensor 1 includes a self-capacitance electrode 5, first electrodes 3 (3(1) to 3(4)), and a second electrode 4 which are arranged being separated from each other in a thickness direction of an elastically deformable base material 2 formed by a dielectric. The self-capacitance electrode 5 is connected to a first connection portion 10a for measuring capacitance by a self-capacitance method and a grounded second connection portion 10b via a switch 10 so as to be selectively connected to the first connection portion 10a and the second connection portion 10b.

- the self-capacitance electrode is connected to a first connection portion for measurement of capacitance by the self-capacitance method and a grounded second connection portion via a switch such that the self-capacitance electrode can be selectively connected to the first connection portion and the grounded second connection portion;
- a first measurement unit configured to measure capacitance between the self-capacitance electrode and the external object by the self-capacitance method when the self-capacitance electrode is connected to the first connection portion via the switch;
- a second measurement unit configured to measure capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode when the self-capacitance electrode is connected to the second connection portion via the switch;
- and
- a control unit configured to perform switching control of the switch, wherein
- the control unit is configured to perform switching control of the switch so as to periodically switch the connection between the self-capacitance electrode and the first connection portion or the second connection portion,
- the first measurement unit and the second measurement unit are configured to periodically execute the respective measurement processing, and
