Abstract
Provided are a refrigerator and a control method thereof. The refrigerator is characterized by enabling at least a part of a refrigerator door to be selectively transparent by a user's operation, such that the user sees through an inside of the refrigerator while the refrigerator door is closed.
Claims20
A refrigerator comprising:
- a cabinet configured to form a storage space;
- a door configured to open and close at least a portion of the storage space;
- a door switch configured to detect an opening of the door;
- a lighting unit configured to illuminate the storage space;
- a user interface provided in the storage space and including:
- a display which selectively outputs a first screen or a second screen;
- and
- an input device;
- and
- a controller configured to:
- based on the door switch detecting the opening of the door, activate the lighting unit and activate the display such that the display displays the first screen, and
- control the display such that the display ceases presenting the first screen and presents the second screen, and
- set an operation of the refrigerator based on an input received by the input device and based on state information presented on the first or second screen when the input is received.
