Abstract
Various aspects of the present invention provide compositions and implantable devices including a water-insoluble therapeutic agent solubilized in a matrix of a gallate-containing compound. Other aspects provide methods of manufacturing and using such compositions and devices.
Claims20
A composition comprising:
- a therapeutic preparation comprising a gallate containing compound and a water-insoluble therapeutic agent at least partly dissolved in a solid phase of the gallate containing compound, where the gallate containing compound is present in an amount by weight equal to or greater than the amount by weight of the water-insoluble therapeutic agent.
A composition comprising:
- a therapeutic preparation comprising a gallate containing compound and a water-insoluble therapeutic agent, where the water-insoluble therapeutic agent is at least partly dissolved in a solid phase of the gallate containing compound.
A composition comprising:
- a therapeutic preparation comprising a gallate containing compound and a water-insoluble therapeutic agent, where the water-insoluble therapeutic agent is solubilized within a matrix of the gallate containing compound to form a solid solution.
