Abstract
A system and method to analyze image data. The image data may be used to assist in determine the presence of a feature in the image. The feature may include a bubble.
Claims17
A method of selecting a region for determining a presence of a bubble in an image, comprising:
- tracking a location of at least a portion of an instrument positioned within a subject in a subject space defined by the subject;
- accessing a current image of the subject having an image space that is registered to the subject space;
- determining a location of the instrument within the image space based on the tracked location of the instrument and the accessed current image;
- determining a region of interest in the accessed current image and image space based at least on the determined location of the instrument within the image space;
- analyzing image data of the current image with at least a bubble image library to determine if a bubble is present in the current image within the region of interest;
- identifying image portions of the analyzed current image that include the bubble;
- generating a comparison image by removing the identified image portions in the current image that include the bubble;
- and
- outputting feedback to a user in light of the comparison image regarding continuing with a procedure performed by the instrument.

A system to select a region for determining a presence of a bubble in an image, comprising:
- a navigation system operable to:
- determine a location of an instrument positioned within a subject in a subject space defined by the subject,
- access a current image of the subject having an image space that is registered to the subject space, and
- determine a location of the instrument within an image space;
- and
- an image analysis processor system operable to execute instructions to:
- identify a region of interest relative to the determined location of the instrument within the image space,
- analyze image data of the current image with at least a bubble image library to determine if a bubble is present in the current image within the region of interest,
- identify image portions of the analyzed current image that include the bubble,
- generating a comparison image by removing the identified image portions in the current image that include including the bubble, and
- output feedback to a user in light of the comparison image regarding continuing with a procedure performed by the instrument.

A method of selecting a region for determining a presence of a bubble in an image, comprising:
- accessing a first image and a second image of a subject in which an instrument is positioned;
- generating a first comparison image by comparing the first image and the second image;
- determining a location of the instrument within an image space of at least the comparison image based on a determined location of the instrument;
- determining a region of interest relative to the determined location of the instrument within the image space;
- correcting at least the second image for determining a temperature of at least the region of interest in the second image;
- identifying image portions of the comparison image including the bubble;
- generating a second comparison image by removing the identified image portions of the first comparison image including the bubble;
- and
- outputting feedback to a user in light of the second comparison image regarding continuing with a procedure performed by the instrument.
