Wireless antenna sensing in a playback device

A playback device comprising:

• a wireless communications interface including a wireless antenna;
• a capacitive sensor comprising an electrode that is coupled to the wireless antenna;
• and
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by the at least one processor such that the playback device is configured to:
• operate the playback device in a first power state;
• detect that an object is in proximity to the capacitive sensor;
• and
• after detection of the object, adjust operation of the playback device from the first power state to a second power state;
• while in the second power state:
• stream, via the wireless antenna, data representing audio content;
• and
• play back the audio content via at least one audio amplifier.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by at least one processor of a playback device comprising a wireless communications interface including a wireless antenna and a capacitive sensor comprising an electrode that is coupled to the wireless antenna such that the playback device is configured to:

• operate the playback device in a first power state;
• detect that an object is in proximity to the capacitive sensor;
• and
• after detection of the object, adjust operation of the playback device from the first power state to a second power state.
