Smart cartridge wake up operation and data retention

An electronic system for a surgical instrument, the electronic system, comprising:

• a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a primary circuit;
• a supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit with a plurality of sensors;
• a sample rate monitor coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit, wherein the sample rate monitor is configured to limit set sample rates and/or duty cycle of the sensors of the secondary circuit when the surgical instrument is in a non-sensing state;
• and
• wherein the plurality of sensors comprise:
• a first sensor coupled to the surgical instrument, wherein the first sensor is configured to measure a first parameter of tissue;
• and
• a second sensor coupled to the surgical instrument, wherein the second sensor is configured to measure a second parameter of the tissue, wherein the first sensor and the second sensor are in signal communication with a processor, and wherein the processor is configured to adjust a measurement of the first parameter based on a measurement of the second parameter yielding an adjusted measurement.

An electronic system for a surgical instrument, the electronic system, comprising:

• a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a primary circuit;
• a supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit with a plurality of sensors;
• an over current/voltage protection circuit coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit, wherein the over current/voltage protection circuit is configured to isolate current from the main power supply circuit when the secondary circuit with the plurality of sensors experiences higher levels of current or voltage than expected;
• and
• wherein the plurality of sensors comprise:
• a first sensor coupled to the surgical instrument, wherein the first sensor is configured to measure a first parameter of tissue;
• and
• a second sensor coupled to the surgical instrument, wherein the second sensor is configured to measure a second parameter of the tissue, wherein the first sensor and the second sensor are in signal communication with a processor, and wherein the processor is configured to adjust a measurement of the first parameter based on a measurement of the second parameter yielding an adjusted measurement.
