Apparatus and method for forming nanoparticles

A method, comprising:

• disposing a first rotor in a mill core, the first rotor including a first plurality of aerodynamic vanes arranged in first concentric rows;
• disposing a second rotor in the mill core opposite the first rotor, the second rotor including a second plurality of aerodynamic vanes arranged in second concentric rows;
• and
• causing the first rotor and the second rotor to rotate around a common axis;
• wherein the first concentric rows and the second concentric rows occupy alternating concentric regions within the mill core such that the first concentric rows fit between the second concentric rows;
• wherein a cross-section of any of the first plurality of aerodynamic vanes or the second plurality of aerodynamic vanes includes a symmetric or a cambered airfoil-shape;
• and
• wherein an inner row of the first concentric rows of the first plurality of aerodynamic vanes has a tilt angle that is steeper than a tilt angle of an outer row of the first concentric rows,
• wherein an individual aerodynamic vane of the first plurality of aerodynamic vanes or the second plurality of aerodynamic vanes is adjustably tilted at an angle with respect to a direction of motion tangent to the first concentric rows or the second concentric rows while the individual aerodynamic vane is in motion;
• and the adjusting is based on at least a speed of rotation of the first rotor or the second rotor.
