Abstract
A system having an elongate assembly, an expandable assembly having a fixed end region and a movable end region, the expandable assembly selectively transitioning between an expanded state and an unexpanded state with movement of the movable end region towards the fixed end region, and an advancement aid extending distally from the expandable assembly.
Claims17
A system, comprising:
- an elongate assembly;
- an expandable assembly having a fixed end region and a movable end region, the expandable assembly selectively transitioning between an expanded state and an unexpanded state with movement of the movable end region towards the fixed end region, the expandable assembly comprising at least one flexible member having three bends which are resiliently formed when the expandable assembly is in the expanded state, the at least one flexible member comprising a mounting end comprising recesses formed by a base and at least one projection extending from the base, wherein the recesses are engaged with a portion of the elongate assembly;
- and
- an elongate advancement aid extending distally from the expandable assembly, the advancement aid comprising a flexible, elongate distal tip.

A system, comprising:
- an elongate assembly comprising a first elongate member disposed within a second elongate member;
- an expandable assembly operatively associated with the elongate assembly and having a first end region and a second end region, the expandable assembly selectively transitioning between an expanded state and an unexpanded state by relative movement of the first end region and the second end region, the expandable assembly comprising a plurality of expansion elements each having three bends which are resiliently formed when the expandable assembly is in the expanded state, the plurality of expansion elements comprising a mounting end each comprising a mounting end comprising recesses formed by a base and at least one projection extending from the base, wherein the recesses are engaged with portions of the elongate assembly;
- and
- an elongate advancement aid extending distally from the expandable assembly the advancement aid comprising a flexible, elongate distal tip.
1 more element
A system, comprising:
- a first elongate member;
- an expandable assembly operatively associated with the first elongate member and having a first end region and a second end region, the expandable assembly selectively transitioning between an expanded state and an unexpanded state by relative movement of the first end region and the second end region, the expandable assembly comprising:
- a first extension element comprising a first end, a second end, and an intermediate portion that selectively resiliently buckles as the expandable assembly transitions between the expanded state and the unexpanded state, the first extension member comprising three bends which are formed when the first extension element resiliently buckles;
- a second extension element disposed on an opposite side of a longitudinal axis of the elongate assembly from the first extension element;
- and
- the first end of the first extension element being formed with a mounting portion comprising recesses formed by a base and two projections extending from the base, wherein the recesses are engaged with portions of the first elongate member;
- and
- an elongate advancement aid extending distally from the expandable assembly the advancement aid comprising a flexible, elongate distal tip.
